Ala is a Research Fellow in the Department of Surgical and Interventional Engineering at King’s College London (KCL). Ala received his PhD in computing science from the University of Glasgow in 2016. He then joined Diamond light source as a data analysis scientist in the electron bio-imaging centre (eBIC). In 2018, he joined the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) as a Higher Research Scientist to work on ‘Google Earth of cancer’ project funded by Cancer Research UK. In 2020, he joined KCL as a Research Fellow, where he is applying his expertise to the development of novel computational imaging algorithms for ultrasound-based medical imaging.
