Helena is a Postdoctoral fellow affiliated to KU Leuven, Belgium. Helena’s research focuses on creating intelligent tools, that automate aspects of the pelvic floor disease assessment clinical workflow. Helena works closely with clinical partners to develop tools that are interpretable while reducing operator error and saving clinicians time. Her research to-date has mainly focused on Ultrasound images, semantic segmentation, landmark regression and plane detection.

Helena successfully defended her PhD at KU Leuven, Belgium on the 21st October 2022. Before her PhD in 2018, Helena completed an integrated Master’s degree (MPhys) in Physics at the University of Bath, United Kingdom.
