Yijing has a research background on neuroscience and biomedical optics. She received BS in Biomedical Engineering from Hua-Zhong University of Science and Technology, China, MS in Medical Physics from University of Heidelberg, Germany. She studied her PhD in University of Lübeck and University of Freiburg, Germany. She received her Doktor-Ingenieur degree (PhD in Engineering) from University of Freiburg in 2016, where she developed a novel multi-modal navigation method for deep brain interventions including optical coherence tomography and neuro-electrophysiology. She was a research associate in University of Freiburg from 2012 to 2015. In 2015, she joined the Translational Image Group in University College London as PDRA on a project of developing a multi-scale spectrally-resolved fluorescence imaging system dedicated for brain tumour detection. Since 2018, she has been working as PDRA at the School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences and Wellcome/EPSRC Centre for Medical Engineering, King’s College London. She received the L’Oréal UK&I and UNESCO for Women in Science Rising Talent Award 2020. Her recent research focus is on the development of novel optical imaging modalities (light field, multispectral imaging, and fluorescence imaging) for guiding neurosurgical procedures.
