Soumya is a KCL MRC DTP PhD Student supervised by Mr. Jonathan Shapey and Prof. Tom Vercauteren. His project is on “Artificial intelligence-driven management of brain tumours”. The motivation to pursue this project stems from his previous work on segmenting multiple sclerosis lesions and acute ischemic stroke lesions in multi-modal brain images.

He completed his Bachelor’s in Computer Science Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology and his Master’s in Machine Learning at Queen Mary University of London, where his thesis was on automated orthopaedic implant identification. He has also interned at the University of Oxford and Indian Institute of Technology - Gandhinagar working on spine images.
